Brits 2011: Red Carpet Hits & Misses

Another award show, another array of outfits for us to critique. Let's get on with it then!

FASHION HITS

Cheryl Cole - Cheryl's obviously excited about her new altered tattoo on her lower back as she's taking any opportunity to show it off and with this sequined backless number, this is no exception. However, unlike her rather unclassy cut-out dress she wore for National TV awards last month, this floor-length black dress adds some refined glamour to her look.

Tinie Tempah - The best dressed male of the night without a doubt. The MC transitions his usual spectacled urban preppy style into this gentlemanly suit. Keeping it simple in monochrome, Tinie lets his natural swag speak for itself.

Ellie Goulding - The most feminine we have seen the singer since she hit the spotlight last year, Ellie shines sweetly in this delicately gathered Greican-like gown. The slit and spiky heels add just the right touch of sexiness in order to balance the dainty prettiness of this look

Rihanna - This dress couldn't be more different from her overly sheer, bodycon dress the singer wore at the Grammys. Fl@unt prefers this look, although still over-the-top, we should be used to this from Rihanna by now. The unlikely mix of block colours result in a bold yet girly look, perfectly fitting for Rihanna's current album 'Loud'.

Will Young - The tailoring of this outfit is super sharp and slick from head toe. The subtraction of a tie immediately separates this look from the other male singers on the red carpet and the addition of strong blue trousers show that Will ain't scared to experiment and fl@unt some serious fashion.

FASHION MISSES

Avril Lavigne - At first this dress didn't seem so bad however paired with Avril's shabby adolescent dye-job, her stupid hair cancels out a potentially edgy outfit. The hemline could be slightly higher also.

Matt Cardle - Deserved winner of last years X Factor and a deserved loser for his fashion choices at this years Brits.  What can we say? Fl@unt is just not a fan of grey tweed suits that men over the age of 65 should be sporting.

Jessie J - Immaculate hair, shoes and make-up but the actual outfit itself looks like a leftover Christmas sweet rapper. Not good.
